I said 8 weeks? More like 10 weeks. Whatever. It’s on the way. The tracking of the vehicle has been... painful. It’s kind of worse when you have foreknowledge of where it’s at and how long it’s taking through each stage. It’s a lot of money represented by little blocks in a webpage!

But it gets worse.

BMW provides you the ship and journey that the car is on. Obsession never ends!

I’m so close!

Also, the ship is named “Glorious Leader.” That’s awesome.

I’m almost to the “test drive” phase! Only a few weeks left!

Congrats! Trust me you will not get bored with that car. People along side you will just be seeing a blur until a red light, inside is what appears to be an adult giggling like a school girl before the lights turn green and once again disappears with a glorious engine note.

Also I beseech you, if you bought it and it isn’t a lease I STRONGLY urge you to get a third party GPS tracking device. My father just lost his M6 when it got stolen and couldnt be found in part from BMW’s pathetic SOS tracking system. The whole deal left a bad taste in my mouth from how sketchy they were in responding to it. On the positive side he is getting a new one which is even meaner and faster.

There are numerous brands that provide this kind of service. LoJack is pretty much the old stand by, I just suggest getting something, anything, as long as there is something that you are in full control of. My father had to go through the police to get information given by BMW... Excuse me? Wat? That’s right BMW will not give you the position information of YOUR car.

I’ve heard that LoJack can be hit or miss. I had it on one car, and it seemed okay?

Maybe I’ll look into getting LoJack done independently.

I just realized how strange this sounded to a person literally seeing their car on a boat slowly traveling towards you so I will rephrase. As soon as the car is off the boat THEN they won’t tell you lol.

My mini was nearly on that same ship! Missed departure by a day, now it’s on the Bess which left today. Same as you obsessively checking it’s status all through production.
